Chromebook Games

A Chromebook has a trackpad, modest hardware and no ability to install desktop games. That rules out anything needing a gamepad or a twitchy WASD grip, and it rules in games you can play with clicks and taps alone. Every title here declares mouse, click or tap controls and does not ask for WASD or a controller, so it works with the trackpad you already have.

How this list is built

Filtered on the controls field: the game must state mouse, click, tap, trackpad or pointer input, and must not require WASD, a gamepad or a joystick. Nothing here needs an install, a plugin or an extension.

Technically: checked against each game's published control scheme; restricted to games scoring 5+ with their provider. Nothing on this page is hand-placed — the order is driven by what players here actually open.

Most played in this list right now: A Mole in a Hole, 2048 Classic Puzzle - Challenge, Basketball Stars, Survival Island.

1782 games match in total; the 72 most played are shown so the page stays fast on a phone.

GamPlayer runs these games in the browser with no install and no account. Availability still depends on your device, browser and local network.

Chromebook Games: common questions

Do these games need anything installed on a Chromebook?

No. They are HTML5 games that run inside the Chrome tab you already have open. There is no APK, no Linux container, no extension and no developer mode. If the page loads, the game runs.

Will they work if my school network blocks things?

That depends entirely on your network, and it is not something we can change or work around. These pages exist because the games are small and need no installation, which is the usual reason a device cannot run a game. If a network administrator blocks this site, the right move is to ask them, not to route around it.

Are they playable with just the trackpad?

Yes, that is the filter. Every game here declares pointer or tap input and none require WASD or a gamepad. Games that need a keyboard grip are excluded rather than listed with a warning.

Do older or slower Chromebooks struggle?

Most of these are 2D games that ask very little of the GPU. The spec table on each game page lists the canvas size, which is the best single hint at how heavy a title is. Smaller canvases generally run smoothly on entry-level hardware.

How many games are on this page?

This page currently matches 1782 games in the GamPlayer catalog. The strongest categories in the list are Arcade (9), 2048 (6), Sports (6).
